Urban R&B producer/vocalist/multi-instrumentalist/songwriter R. Kelly and his supporting band Public Announcement began recording in 1992 at the tail end of the new jack swing era, yet he was able to keep much of its sound alive while remaining commercially successful.
While he created a smooth, professional mixture of hip-hop beats, soul-man crooning, and funk, the most distinctive element of Kelly's music is its explicit carnality. He was able to make songs like "Sex Me," "Bump n' Grind," "Your Body's Callin'," and "Feelin' on Yo Booty" into hits because his production was seductive enough to sell such blatant come-ons. As his crossover success broadened, Kelly also developed a flair for pop balladry that helped cement his status as one of the biggest-selling male artists of the '90s.
Having established himself as an artist, R. Kelly took on the mantle of writer, producer and mixer and soon found himself in demand. In 1995, he remixed Janet Jackson's 'Anytime, Anyplace' before keeping it in the family with Michael Jackson's 'You Are Not Alone', which R. Kelly wrote, produced and arranged the vocals. The song was a No.1 hit on both sides of the Atlantic and made R. Kelly more sought-after than ever.
Kelly truly consolidated his crossover success with the 1996 single "I Believe I Can Fly," which he recorded for the Michael Jordan movie Space Jam. Transcending Kelly's prior sexed-up image, the song reached number two on the pop charts and won Grammy Awards for Best Male R&B Vocal Performance, Best R&B Song, and Best Song Written Specifically for a Motion Picture or for Television. He scored another R&B number one with "I Wish", a tribute to R. Kelly's roots and his mother.

2000年底发行的--《TP-2.com》，是一张R Kelly在R&B音乐界的全新代表作，由R Kelly一手包办创作及制作的曲风呈多元化，除了R&B基调外，还有CLUB JAMS、SOULFUL GROOVES以及R Kelly的抒情曲。这张专辑一推出即登上美国Billboard排行榜流行专辑榜及R&B专辑榜的双料冠军，并入围了多项音乐大奖。其中 《I Wish》也成为当年的最畅销单曲。

3. 这里的it并不确定指某事，只是泛指希望、成功。
4. there's nothing to it表示“没有困难，与...比起来算不了什么”。只要坚定自己的信念，就没有克服不了的困难。
5. spread my wings，展开我的翅膀。spread，“伸开，展开”，例如：Spread your legs! 把腿分开站着！spread可以表示“传开，传播”，比如说，The word spread fast. 消息散布得很快。还可以表示“摊开”，Tom spread all his toys on the floor. 汤姆把所有的玩具都摊在地上。
6. soar这个词可以表示“高飞，翱翔”，也可以表示“高涨”，比如：Our spirits soared.我们的精神高涨。The temperature soared to 80°F.气温骤升到80华氏度。Prices are soaring again. 价格又在飞涨了。
7. verge，边缘，边界，例如：She's on the verge of tears.她就快要哭出来了。
8. break down，精神崩溃，He broke down and wept. 他不禁失声痛哭。break down还可以表示“损坏”，The car broke down halfway to the camp. 车子在去营地的半路上抛锚了。My computer broke down last night. 昨天晚上我的电脑当掉了。
9. sometimes silence can seem so loud，这句歌词乍一看是互相矛盾的，其实细想一下，也挺有道理的，用鲁迅先生的一句话就可以解释，不在沉默中爆发，就在沉默中灭亡，有时候，沉默是可怕的，吞噬你的心灵，让你精神崩溃。
10. 这里的miracles in life应该就是指“希望，梦想”。it starts inside of me，就是说要先战胜自己，才能让奇迹实现。要相信奇迹的存在，并不断努力去实现它。
